How to hide tabs in Google Chrome

1. Hide the tabs using the F11 shortcut

By pressing the F11 button on your keyboard, Google Chrome switches to full screen mode. This, in turn, hides the address bar and all toolbar menu tabs.

So whenever you want to hide what you are browsing or websites open in other tabs, hit the F11 button and you are good to go. Press the button again to return to normal view.

You can also see and navigate open tabs without closing full screen view by hovering your mouse across the top of the screen.

2. Using the panic button extension

3. Hide tab names by pinning tabs

The other way to hide tabs from view is to pin them. However, note that this will only hide the tab name and not the website favicon.

  1. Right click on the tab you want to hide.
  2. Click on Pin from the available options.
  3. The tabs will be pinned to the far left of the bar. As mentioned, only the names of the websites will be hidden from view.
