Apple uses MagSafe to change the way iPhones are displayed in the Apple Store

Remember when you walked into an Apple Store eager to get your hands on the latest iPhone? The tables are said to be full of cables, including a Lightning cord and a safety cord to prevent consumers from going out with a stolen unit. All these cables made the exposed iPhone inaccessible and messed up the screen.

But thanks to its MagSafe system, Apple has designed a new look for iPhone screens in the Apple Store. No more Lightning cables, replaced by MagSafe chargers on metal arms. This gives the impression that each iPhone model displayed is floating in the air when viewed from the front. There is still a security cable placed on the phone under the MagSafe washer, but it is now retractable for the very first time, reducing the need for Apple Store staff to put it back in place.
And with MagSafe, it's so much easier to put the iPhone you've been handling back into place. Previously, you had to plug the handset into the docking station. With the new setup, all you have to do is use the stick on the back of the phone in your hand for the MagSafe charger held in place by the aforementioned metal arm.

The result? Less clutter and a more inviting setup for those who like to familiarize themselves with the Apple Store. The only problem is that Apple has yet to roll out the new look widely. As noted by 9to5Mac, the new iPhone display was only seen at Apple Park Visitor Center in Cupertino and has yet to replace the current setup of other Apple Stores. In addition to looking better, Apple might find itself selling more MagSafe chargers as consumers get a good idea of how the magnetic wireless charging system works.
With the new Explore app launched in June, Apple is making it easier for those browsing an iPhone to compare features and pricing options with other iOS handsets. Hopefully Apple will install it in every Apple Store soon, as it seems like a very win-win change helping both Apple and its customers. Keep in mind that MagSafe, and therefore the new display, is only available for the iPhone 12 series at the moment.
