[Firefox] How to block the automatic reloading of pages?

I'm not an ayatollah of respect for standards and good use of the Web. But all the same I have some principles.

If there is one thing that annoys me, it is sites that reload automatically. Not those for which this functionality is essential such as sports sites.

But for example, when I read an article on the site of a major national newspaper, I do not understand the need to reload it every minute. If not do artificially increase the number of page views...

Firefox
offers a feature to block automatic reloads. As usual it is abouta key in the configuration.

In your address bar, type " about:config "

firefox-about-config

In the search bar, type " accessibility.blockautorefresh »(You don't have to type everything, this is an iterative filter):

Double-click on the line to display the value " true"

It's finish. The wild reloads will be blocked.
What to breathe your computer and avoid having invoices of 159000 € with your 3G key.

Of course, you may need to automatically reload a page. to see OM win. In this case I use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+R (R for Reload) or a feature of 'ReloadEvery extension
