Google Assistant on the Pixel 7 series learns how you speak to better understand your requests

If the Google Assistant can't understand the question you're asking or the task you're asking it to perform, chances are you won't get an appropriate answer. It's almost certain that you won't get the response you need or the action you want. Of course, you can always type your question or task, but most users prefer to use their voice rather than their fingers.

UN Google support page (via 9to5Google) discusses "personalized voice recognition" for the Google Assistant, available only on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The feature records your "voice interactions" with the Google Assistant securely on your device to learn "the words and phrases that matter to you". This includes acronyms that you might use often.
Google says that with the feature enabled, “Google Assistant will use your interactions to learn and improve over time and in all contexts. As you interact with Google Assistant, personalized voice recognition helps your Assistant become smarter and more personalized to you over time. These interactions include "audio, recognized text, and any corrections you make from voice and typed requests."

The assistant's "personalized speech recognition" continuously learns over time and adapts to the way you speak. Although this feature is enabled by default, you can choose to disable it. This will delete all interactions you've had with the Google Assistant that have been saved on the device up to that point.

To turn off "personalized voice recognition", on your Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, say "Ok Google, open Assistant settings" or go to Settings > Apps and notifications > Assistant. to push on View all Assistant settings so what Tu so what Your voice recognition. From the next screen, you will be able to enable or disable "personalized voice recognition". According to Google, disabling the feature "will not affect how your data is collected, stored, or used in other settings such as Assistant voice input on Gboard, voice and audio activity, voice matching, personal results, improving assistant through federated learning, improving Gboard through federated learning, or web and app activity. »
