Sometimes you may face several errors while playing a YouTube video. The most common are:

  • « There was a problem with the server (400)."
  • « Please check your network connection (or try again)."
  • « Loading error. Click to try again."
  • « Connexion error."
  • « Internal server error 500."

Rest assured, all of these issues have easy troubleshooting methods to perform. If you are facing any of these error messages in the YouTube app on your phone, please follow the steps below.

1. Restart your phone

Restarting your phone will resolve temporary issues and network issues. Trust us, a simple restart can save you!

2. Clear YouTube app data and cache

The other way is to clear the YouTube app data and cache. For this you will need to head to Settings> Apps> All apps and select “YouTube”. Then click on "Storage" and press "Clear data". This will reset your YouTube app to default and likely fix server error 400.

3. Uninstall YouTube app updates

If clearing the cache and data from the YouTube app does not help, you can uninstall the updates, in order to restore the factory version. All you have to do is go on Settings> Applications> All applications, select “YouTube” and press “Uninstall updates”.

Once you uninstall the app updates, YouTube videos will start playing normally. You can now update the app from Google Play Store if you want. However, if the problem reappears, keep an older version.

4. Check your network settings

If none of these troubleshooting steps work, you need to check your network. Restart your Wi-Fi router or open your phone settings, go to the Mobile networks section and reset your APN settings.

You can also try using another DNS to see if it solves the problems. One can use Cloudflare app 1.1.1.1, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
