Get Android 11 update on your phone

The Android 11 update schedule for your phone depends on its brand and model. Google is releasing it for recent phones in the Pixel line, followed by devices from Realme, Oppo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi. Here's how to install the Android 11 update on qualifying devices.

Install Android 11 on the Google Pixel series

You can install Android 11 on the Pixel 2 and newer phones in the Google line. This includes Pixel 2, 2XL, Pixel 3, 3 XL, 3a, 3a XL, et Pixel 4, 4 4XL and 4a. To update your Pixel to Android 11:

  1. Open Settings on your Pixel.
  2. Aller vers System> Advanced> System update.
  3. Click on "Check for updates".

You can install it using the local update method on your OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 8 Pro.

  1. Go to the OnePlus forum in your browser.
  2. Download the Open Beta 1 version for OnePlus 8 (link) or OnePlus 8 Pro (link).
  3. Once the file is downloaded, copy it to your phone's internal memory.
  4. Go to Settings> System> System updates.
  5. Tap the gear icon and select Local update.
  6. Select the update file and click install now to manually install OxygenOS 11 public beta on your OnePlus phone.

The Open Beta is essentially based on stable Android 11. However, there may be minor bugs here and there. If you don't want to install the initial version, you can wait for the stable version.

Following Google's announcement, Oppo launched its own beta version for the Oppo Find X2, Find X2 Pro, Ace 2, Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro. Eligible Oppo phone users in India can request the beta in the software updates section as shown below.

  1. On your Oppo phone, head to Settings> Software update.
  2. Click on the gear icon and press Request the beta.
  3. Then click on Update beta version.

If you are selected, you will receive the update within three days on your phone. Oppo will soon unveil ColorOS 11 based on Android 11, but these updates will be based on the current version of ColorOS 7.2.

Like Oppo, Realme is also offering the Android 11 update to a limited number of users who own the flagship. Realme X50 Pro smartphone. If you have one, you can follow the steps below to update it to Realme UI based on Android 11.

  1. Head toward Settings> Software update.
  2. Tap the settings icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Click on Trial version, enter the details and press Apply now.

Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro or Poco F2 Pro are eligible for Mi Pilot MIUI Global Stable Beta ROM running MIUI 12 based on Android 11.

To get the Android 11 update, you will need to fill out a form on the Mi Global community website and share your IMEI numbers. The deadline for the same is today i.e. September 9th. Once you have authorized your account for beta testing, you can load the ROM through recovery.

ROM is currently in beta and may be unstable; therefore, install at your discretion. Beta testing permission can theoretically be bypassed by flashing the ROM through custom recovery like TWRP, but only experiment if you're familiar with that stuff.
