Xiaomi Mi 11 set to launch on December 29, alleged camera sample revealed

Xiaomi Mi 11 could launch on December 29, according to a new report. The phone will follow on from the Xiaomi Mi 10 series and the Mi 10T series. Mi 11 will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 SoC, as previously confirmed by Xiaomi co-founder and CEO Lei Jun. Additionally, a Mi 11 camera imaging sample may have been revealed by Redmi Product Manager Wang Teng Thomas on Weibo. At this time, it's unclear when the phone will launch, but a previous report also called for a year-end release, adding weight to recent development.

According to a report by Gizmochina citing a source, Xiaomi will launch Mi 11 on December 29. It's unclear whether this will be a global launch or a China-only launch. While the company hasn't officially shared the phone's release date, a previous report from the start of the month also indicated that the Mi 11 would launch around the end of December. Two models are expected in the Mi 11 series from now on - the Vanilla Mi 11 and the top-of-the-line Mi 11 Pro.

As for the camera sample, Redmi Product Manager Wang Teng Thomas shared an image of Xiaomi Technology Park - the company's Beijing headquarters - on Weibo. This particular article, unlike other articles by Thomas on the Chinese microblogging website, did not disclose which phone was used to capture the image, leading to speculation about its take on Mi 11. Thomas also somewhat acknowledged that the name of the phone was missing. when a fan pointed it out.

Last week, Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro smartphones were reportedly spotted on the 3C certification site, hinting at support for 55W fast charging. Prior to that, alleged Mi 11 renderings showed a phone with a curved screen, perforated cutout design, and triple rear camera setup.

According to the leaked specs and pricing details, Xiaomi Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro will feature a 6-inch QHD + AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphones are said to have triple rear cameras as well, with the Mi 11 featuring 'a 108-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 5-megapixel telephoto lens. Mi 11 Pro may include a 50 megapixel main sensor which could just be 4: 1 pixel binning output. It could also include a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens.

The price of the Xiaomi Mi 11 can range from CNY 3 (around Rs 999) to Rs 45 (around Rs 100). Xiaomi Mi 4 Pro is rumored to be priced between CNY 499 (around Rs 50) to CNY 700 (around Rs 11).
